2024 시카고 킴보 장학생 10명 선발

2024년 킴보장학생으로 시카고를 비롯한 중서부 지역에서 모두 10명이 선발됐습니다.
 
미주 중앙일보가 킴보장학재단의 후원으로 실시한 2024년 킴보장학생 선발에는 미주 전 지역에서 대학생과 대학 입학예정자 총 212명이 선발돼 모두 53만달러의 장학금이 지급됩니다.  
 
시카고 및 중서부 지역 장학생 10명에게는 1인당 각각 2500달러씩 총 2만5000달러의 장학금이 수여됩니다.  
 
장학생 수상자들에게는 개별 통지도 이뤄지며 시상식은 오는 30일(화) 열립니다.  
 

한인 커뮤니티와 미국의 미래를 위해 노력하는 학생들이 자신의 꿈을 반드시 실현할 수 있도록 돕고 있는 킴보장학생 선발에 여러분의 계속된 관심과 성원을 부탁 드립니다.

John Lee= It is so gratifying to see such intelligence and courage from each and every one of the applicants. I do not believe we are leaving a better world to this generation, but I am sure we are leaving better human beings for the world.  Heartfelt congratulations to all the applicants. 박형춘= 매년 여름 큰 설렘이 있습니다. 킴보장학생 지원서를 심사하면서 제가 오히려 많은 배움을 얻고 그들의 열정에 스며 들게 되는 기대와 설렘입니다. 치열한 삶을 살아가고 있는 청년 지원자들의 에세이를 읽다 보면 스스로와 타협하고 굳어져 가는 부끄러운 제 자신을 반성하게 됩니다. 미국 한인 커뮤니티는 미국 전체 인구에서 0.61%로 매우 미미 하지만 미국 사회의 모든 분야에서 큰 공헌을 하고 있습니다. 자신의 Comfort Zone과 타협하지 않고 거친 세상 속에서 열정의 물감으로 꿈을 그려가는 멋진 한인 청년들이 있기에, 이들이 만들어 갈 미래의 한인 커뮤니티는 더욱 영향력 있고 눈부실 것입니다. 그들이 그려가는 꿈의 미래를 상상하면서 진행한 올해의 심사도 그래서 큰 설렘, 희망, 배움이었습니다. 모든 지원자분들께 깊은 축하와 감사의 인사를 보냅니다

Witnessing these students' diverse backgrounds and their perseverance in overcoming challenges exemplifies the resilience of Korean Americans in the United States.
