Chris: Did you get my e-mail I sent you yesterday?

크리스: 어제 내가 보낸 이메일 받았어?

Neil: No I haven't gotten any e-mails lately. My computer is down.

닐: 아니 요즘 이메일 한 통도 못 받았어. 컴퓨터가 고장 났거든.

Chris: What's wrong with it?

크리스: 뭐가 잘못됐는데?

Neil: Beats me. I don't understand anything about computers.

닐: 모르겠어. 컴퓨터는 도통 이해가 안 돼.

Chris: You don't? Nothing at all?

크리스: 모른다고? 아무 것도 몰라?

Neil: No. Computers are over my head.

닐: 그래. 컴퓨터는 알 수가 없어.

Chris: What are you going to do?

크리스: 어떻게 할 거야?

Neil: I'm taking it to a friend of mine. He's a wiz with computers.

닐: 친구한테 가지고 가려고. 그 친구 컴퓨터 박사거든.

Chris: What's his name? Maybe I'll use him when I have trouble with my computer.

크리스: 친구 이름이 뭐야? 나도 컴퓨터가 골치를 썩이면 부탁할 지도 몰라서 그래.

Neil: His name is Rick. Wait a minute. I'll get you his number.

닐: 이름은 릭이야. 잠깐만. 그 친구 번호 알려줄게.

“The elevator is down. We have to take the stairs.” (승강기가 고장 났어요. 계단으로 가야 되요.)

*beats me: 모르겠어.

Jim: “Where is David?” (짐: 데이빗 어디 있어?)

Roger: “Beats me. I don‘t know where he is.” (라저: 몰라. 데이빗이 어디 있는지 모르겠어.)

*(one) is a wiz (with or at something): 정통하다. (무엇에) 박사야. (wiz는 wizard를 줄여서 쓰는 말.)

“My wife is a wiz at cooking.” (집사람은 요리 박사야.)
