Jim is talking to Roger at work. (짐이 직장에서 로저와 얘기중이다.) 
 
Jim: So did you have a good time?
 
짐: 그래 재미있었어?
 
Roger: Yes we did! My old friend Daniel flew in from Seattle and we had a blast.
 

로저: 응 재미있었지! 시애틀에서 날아온 내 옛날 친구 대니얼과 신나게 지냈어.
 
Jim: That's great. What did you do?
 
짐: 좋았네. 뭐했어?
 
Roger: I showed him the sights.
 
로저: 관광지 좀 보여줬어.
 
Jim: Where did you take him?
 
짐: 어디 데리고 갔는데
 
Roger: We went to Universal Studios, Dodger Stadium, the beaches a jazz club….
 
로저: 유니버설 스튜디오, 다저 스타디움, 바닷가 재즈 클럽….
 
Jim: Wow you took him to a lot of places.
 
짐: 와 여기 저기 많이도 데리고 갔네.
 
Roger: He was only here for four days.
 
로저: 여기서 나흘밖에 안 묵거든.
 
Jim: So you had to squeeze in a lot?
 
짐: 그럼 강행군을 했겠네.
 
Roger: Yes. I'm going to make it up to Seattle to see him this summer.
 
로저: 응. 여름에는 대니얼을 보러 내가 시애틀로 갈 거야.

*show (one) the sights: 관광명소를 구경시켜 주다.
 
"When I go to New York I want you to show me the sights." (뉴욕에 가면 관광지 안내 좀 해줘요.)
 
*squeeze in a lot: 짧은 시간에 많은 것을 하다.
 
"We have to do chapter 7, 8 and 9 by Friday. So we have to squeeze in a lot of work." (금요일까지 7.8.9장을 끝내야 하니까 몰아치기로 해야 되요.)
 
*make it up to (a place): 북쪽에 있는 장소로 여행하다. 반대는 make it down to (a place).
 
"I'm going to make it down to Brazil some day." (언젠가 브라질로 여행을 갈 겁니다.)
